I’m ashamed to admit that the last time I blogged ‘for real, for real’ was about two years ago. Pretty pathetic, right? I know. Feel free to judge me, but just not in the comments section. I’m not ready for that kind of pressure yet…baby steps.
Moving right along, allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Kori Winters, and as you may have already guessed, I’m a female, I’m black and I’m single. Many people in today’s society might view this combination as a ‘triple death threat’, as the more favorable options nowadays seem to be married over single, white over black, and male over female. And if you’re all of the above — a married, white man — who also happens to be rich AND gay, you’ve achieved the American Dream, my friend.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I’m also heterosexual and balling on a budget (which is the total opposite of rich)…two more things you can add on to my not-so-popular list. But in all honestly, I’m perfectly fine with the amazing cards God has dealt me — especially the Black Queen.
That’s what this blog is about: My journey as a single black woman who is constantly learning how to deal with the many experiences life throws her way. From my spirituality, to my health, relationships and career, I have plenty to talk — write — about.
So just sit back, relax and enjoy this very opinionated ride.
