Every Father’s Day my sister Erin and I practice a sacred ritual of waiting ’til the very last minute to buy a gift. We usually get up and go to the grocery store, come home and make a huge breakfast, and then head back out to the store to find daddy a present. But since Erin recently moved back to D.C., I had to hold down our beloved tradition solo this year.
So after breakfast I took my dad to the mall to pick out his gift. On the way there, we had a conversation about things I want to achieve in life and certain decisions I’ve made relating to finances, relationships, etc. I love having these kinds of talks with my dad because he’s so chill and so wise. Plus, it’s always interesting to hear things from his perspective with him being the only man in the house (and living with three Winters women is no easy task lol). [Read more…]
