For the most part, I feel like y’all pretty much know my life now. You know why I’m single, you know about my past dating woes (as in “sorrows”… not Drake’s homeboys), my early adulthood struggles, my health condition and my self-imposed dietary restrictions as a result of it. So yeah, y’all know a lot. But that’s a really good thing!
That’s one of the main reasons why I started this blog: to put myself on front street so that folk who could relate would be able to learn something positive from my mishaps. Take why I decided to go gluten-free, for instance. The condition I was diagnosed with three years ago, dermatomyositis, is an autoimmune disease characterized by severe inflammation in the muscles and skin. I was diagnosed with it shortly after graduating from college in May 2012.
What I’ve learned since having been diagnosed with myositis is that the mind, body and spirit work cohesively as a unit. So ten times outta ten, if one ain’t right, the rest ain’t either.
